Trauma, Youth, and Sexual Identity Therapist

"A mind is a terrible thing to waste"-United Negro College Fund

Greetings, Beautiful! Yes, you! My name is Aja (pronounced like ‘Asia’). I am here to assist you in becoming the best ‘you’ that you can be. I have found joy in serving mankind as I have held many positions in life from Compliance Bank Examiner to classroom teacher. I have a passion to serve the youth as many issues we face in childhood can continue into adulthood. Experience is a great teacher.

However, sometimes we get stuck. Just because you think it, doesn’t make it true. I am a firm believer that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I have an eclectic style of counseling that is tailored to the needs of the person. I enjoy motivating people to walk in their greatness by assisting them in finding the tools, affirmations, and life skills to maintain their health and wellness. I approach therapy as a holistic collaborative effort rooted in addressing the mind, body, and spirit.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Chicago State University, a Master of Business Administration from Keller School of Management, and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Governors State University. I completed my internships at Kellar Middle School and Thornton Township High School, working with a wide range of issues from family dysfunction, trauma, and gender identity. As your therapist, I strive to create a safe space and a judgment free zone to allow you to grow boundlessly.
