CLAUDIA ROBERTS, AMFT
Life Transitions & Identity
“Everything I need is already inside me. I just have to see it and perhaps, more importantly, I
need to choose it. We are, after all, the storytellers of our own lives.”
-Elena Sonnino

Hi there!
I am Claudia Roberts, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my bachelors degree in Human Development Family Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign and my masters degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of
Maryland. I am deeply committed to serving BIPOC communities and my goal is to make mental health services more accessible and culturally aligned.
My passion lies with walking alongside clients as they navigate crucial life transitions and explore their identities. Therapy, to me, is a collaborative space where clients and I explore the past, present, and future as I believe our life experiences are influential to who we are and how we see the world. Rooted in empathy and compassion, I provide a safe space for clients to explore their experiences without judgment. My role is to honor your strengths, foster discussion,
and create an environment where you can uncover resilience and self-acceptance. Through this shared journey, I empower clients to rewrite their narratives and develop a deeper understanding
of themselves.
I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families. My clinical specialization includes working with adolescents and young adults through crucial transitions, identity development, self-exploration, and relationship stress. In all of my work, I employ a trauma- informed approach and focus on empowerment, resilience, and self-discovery. I understand that therapy is not a “one-size-fits-all-all” approach and I integrate evidence-based approaches such
as Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral (DBT) to support the individual needs of my clients.
Taking the first step to begin therapy is courageous and I look forward to supporting you on your journey!
