“For me, becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.”

— Michelle Obama
Hi! I’m Deneen Holmes and I like using humor to help my clients feel connected and safe.
Everyone can benefit from having someone listen to them with patience, empathy, and understanding. When we bear witness to another’s experience, we help them feel seen and cared for as individuals. This type of connection allows us to work through tough times more easily.

I approach sessions with clients by understanding, it is okay to not be okay. My goal is to provide the space to show up and work towards the goals they have for themselves and their lives, which creates a calm yet motivating atmosphere to pave the way for healing and change.
I earned my Bachelors of Science in Community Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As well as completed my Masters degree program at Governors State University where my concentration was Marriage, Family, and Couples therapy. I am a Licensed Practical Nurse as well as a Certified Dementia Practitioner. I am also finishing my certification to be a doula. My healthcare background grants me the opportunity to aid in optimal wellness and holistic health for my clients, I look forward to working with you!
