There is no greater Agony than bearing an untold story inside you.
                                                          -Maya Angelou

I am Latasha Erving. My internship experience allowed me to work with adults and the senior population. While practicing, working with the older community allowed me to gain insight that although people have fulfilled their goals, dreams, and retirement stage doesn’t exclude them from being impacted by day-to-day issues and afflictions of society.

I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University 2022. Also, I have been a Licensed Practical Nurse for eleven years. My goal as a Psychotherapist is to practice through the lens of Existentialism while integrating other counseling styles while understanding my client’s subjective world and meeting them where they
are holistically. Also, allowing them to view the meaning of their world while beginning to think from a more positive perspective and gain insight into who they are internally, and externally.

I believe as human’s we go through cycles of life facing the unknown; as a result, we will encounter situations that will affect our emotions that interrupts how we will continue navigating through life. As one begins to acknowledge that help is needed and the motivation begins to take
place, this is where the healing process starts when the appropriate tools are put into effect.

As a woman of faith, I enjoy worshipping God and keeping him at the forefront of my life. It’s only because of God’s plans for me that he placed in my spirit to help people from a medical model and now through the Biopsychosocial model through the practice of counseling.
