Trauma & Boundaries Therapist
Licensed Social Worker
License#150107590
Clinical Supervisor: Melyssa Scott, LCSW

Hi, I am Shenita and I am a Licensed Social Worker. I hold a Master's of Social Work degree from Jane Addams College of Social Work at University of Illinois at Chicago. My coursework, internships, and employment experience and overall passion has granted me the pleasure of working intimately with diverse populations ranging from children to older adults. Through performance of assessments, providing therapeutic sessions with individuals and families Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and goal setting interventions, I gained the confidence needed to become an effective therapist.

Communication, critical thinking, active/reflective listening, empathy and boundary setting are some of the essential skills I have acquired and aim to incorporate in my practice. With these abilities, I am able to not only meet clients where they are but naturally build rapport with them. My ultimate goal is to create a safe space for clients to express themselves, share and process their most inner thoughts, understand themselves, and embrace their healing journey.

Choosing therapy is making the conscious effort to commit to a journey of growth and development. I look forward to building professional relationships and collaborating with clients to determine the best interventions based on their unique circumstances.
